Gram Panchayats to get $587Mn Worth of Wi-Fi Hotspots

Gram Panchayats are expected to get a huge boost in terms of Wi-Fi Hotspots. A news claims that under the BharatNet programme Gram Panchayat’s will be getting $587 million worth Wi-Fi Hotspots. A tender has been floated by the Department of Telecom to install over 5 Lakh Wi-Fi Hotpots across the country. Under this programme, an estimated budget of around 1.5 Lakhs has been kept per Gram Panchayat. And this programme will cover around 2.3 lakh Gram Panchayat’s.

Wi-Fi hotspots installed in rural areas

The seller deploying wi-fi providers might want to function and keep your complete infrastructure for a minimum interval of 4 years from the date of successful completion. Gram Panchayats to get installed Wi-Fi Hotspots

In a Gram Panchayats wherein the population is about 1000 one Wi-Fi hotspot will be installed. Where the population is around 3500 two Wi-Fi hotspots would be installed. Where it is 7500 three Wi-Fi spots would be installed. It is 12000 four Wi-Fi Hotspots would be installed and where the population is greater than 12000 five of them would be installed.

The primary aim of this project is to connect the public areas with other social institutions like post office, posts, police station and so forth. This operation is likely to come in force by the end of June 2018.

The final mile connectivity has been ready to deploy connecting 4G Speed in village areas with the Experts Team with 4G tower stations of business telecom in gram panchayat.
